For Beginners

What you need to get started:

A mask, disposable latex gloves (after use, take off with the dirty side in), paper towels, acetone, kitchen scales (to weigh out the resin). Measuring unit - grams.

If you plan to make this hobby your everyday activity, my advice is to purchase a quality mask, in order to guard yourself from the toxic fumes of  the resin!

Cover the surface with quality waterproof material. Can be purchased at any construction/hardware shop.

Plastic cups - cut off the top half. This will be used in case you plan to make thin lines in your creation.  Paper cups - do not cut off the top half. A more convenient option due to the flexible material of the cup (easier to shape the edge).

Sticks to mix the epoxy. They can be used to make different patterns and drawings on the work of art as well. Thoroughly clean the sticks/palette knife with paper towels if you plan to use them again. Wooden sticks can be purchased at any beauty supply store.

Place all the utensils to be used in front of you. Pigments, powder, glitter, etc. so that everything is at reach and no time is wasted on searching for the necessary material/utensil during the process of working with resin.

The torch, not recommended  for use on silicone mold, may become defective. Heat gun. Can be purchased at any construction shop.

If the resin comes in contact with the skin, it is best washed off with acetone, then wash hands thoroughly with soap and water and apply baby lotion. Resin is not washed off with ordinary soap!
